Have you ever thought about punching a baby in the face?

Wow, you're a horrible person!

I'm kidding - stick with me.

Maybe it's not baby-related, but have you had a thought cross your mind that stopped you in your tracks and made you think, "Wow, I'm a horrible person."?

We call these intrusive thoughts. If we broadcasted these thoughts - we'd be locked up somewhere.

Not only that, people tend to only project the best version of themselves - especially online. This type of comparison can only make your perception of yourself worse.

Self-esteem takes the hit and that's because we generally compare upward. To people that seem to be further ahead of us in life.

There's good news though.

You might not be a horrible person. (Some of ya'll tho..... )

Intrusive thoughts are normal and can be very disturbing in nature. The key is not to sit and hyper-focus on them.

Nebraska Health listed a couple things that could increase these thoughts:

  • Mental Health Issues
  • Sleep Routine
  • Dehydration
  • Poor Nutrition
  • Stress and Fatigue

So how do you know if you're a bad person?

Well, no one person can or should answer that for you, and there isn't a single set of rules. This article isn't going to dictate that either.

Society and religions have different standards, and those influence each other.

If you're not doing as good as you think you could be, don't be too hard on yourself, you may need help.

Humans are tribal beings and we aren't designed to do everything alone. We need community, no matter what we are pursuing.

Entrepreneurs aren't always great romantic partners, but still need people around them.

You can't be great at everything all at once, and while one area of life is a work in progress - other areas may struggle.

One thing you can do though, is work on yourself.

Try working on these fundamentals to jumpstart other areas:

If you get those right, then you are in a much better position to succeed in other areas.

When your physiology is optimized, you are better equipped to filter intrusive thoughts.

The better your thoughts, the more likely you are to become the person you want to be.
